Lark Design Studios is a New York City and Upstate New York based interior design firm focused on commercial hospitality, food & beverage, retail, and custom residential projects. Lark’s holistic design approach stresses the value of the sensory experience of interior spaces and attention to fine craftsmanship and detail. It is Lark’s mission to deliver creative, thoughtful, and memorable spaces that exceed client expectations and work within client budgets and schedules.

Founded in 2020 by Architect/Interior Designer Rachel Raterman, whose sense of adventure and curiosity took her from the Midwest to Hong Kong, and finally to New York where she currently resides as a part time resident of Brooklyn and part time resident of Woodstock, New York. This collection of experiences from travel and living in New York have led to a culmination of 15 years’ experience as a Project Manager, Studio Director, and/or Senior Designer at leading design firms such as Roman and Williams, Rockwell Group, and Starbucks Asia Pacific. The diversity and rigorous training required to work at these firms provided the tools needed to provide clients with layered, hand-crafted, and unparalleled client service for highly detailed and complex projects.

Current projects within the studio include interior design, FFE selection, accessories styling, and construction administration services for the Tampa Edition Hotel, a collaboration with Ian Schrager Companies and the first 5-star hotel in Tampa at the Water Street Tampa Development, and ongoing creative collaborations with Roman and Williams.
